Introducing Tavian Simmons: The 2021 DTA Foundation / Patterson Dental Scholarship Recipient

UNC Adams School of Dentistry’s Tavian Simmons was awarded a 2021 scholarship of $10,000 as last year’s DTA Foundation / Patterson Dental Scholarship Recipient.

In 2021, the DTA Foundation awarded three more $10,000 Scholarship to top scholarship applicants. Tavian Simmons, a dental student at UNC Adams School of Dentistry was the very deserving recipient of one of those scholarships. My plan to incorporate community service into my full-time dental career consists of two parts: direct service to underserved populations and 2) mentorship to disadvantaged students. My first goal is to continue impacting the lives of individuals who cannot afford care by providing free urgent and preventive care to those in need.
