Introducing Geremy Medlock: The 2021 DTA Foundation / 3M Scholarship Recipient

East Carolina School of Dental Medicine’s Geremy Medlock was awarded a 2021 scholarship of $10,000 as last year’s DTA Foundation / 3M Scholarship Recipient.

In 2021, the DTA Foundation awarded three more $10,000 Scholarship to top scholarship applicants. Geremy Medlock, a dental student at East Carolina School of Dental Medicine, was the very deserving recipient of one of those scholarships. Continue reading below for his plans to continue impacting his community and on the scholarship.

As a dentist, I will facilitate conversations about the importance of oral health in rural and underserved communities through workshops and community outreach programs. One route is remaining involved with the North Carolina Missions of Mercy Foundation. This organization arranges clinics where local dentists, hygienists, and students come together to provide free dental services in different towns and cities within the state to alleviate urgent dental needs.

This scholarship is the definition of putting forward to give back.
