Introducing Chris Hines: A 2021 DTA Foundation/P&R Dental Strategies Scholarship Recipient

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine’s Chris Hines was awarded a 2021 scholarship of $5,000 as last year’s DTA Foundation/P&R Dental Strategies Scholarship Recipients.

In 2021, the DTA Foundation awarded 10 more $5,000 Scholarships to scholarship applicants. Chris Hines, a dental student at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, was the very deserving recipient of one of those scholarships. The community service I have been a part of has afforded me the opportunity to work in underserved communities and personally engage with a plethora of its residents. I have seen and experienced firsthand, the effects of being underprivileged and not being able to receive quality dental care, which further deepens my commitment to continuing my service to the community and improving the healthcare system. My motivation for working to reduce health disparities, especially among minority communities, is a priority for me that will be attainable through my work and dedication.

My aspirations toward success have always been bigger than me. There’s no greater reward than to help someone else. To be recognized for what was simply placed on my heart is absolutely humbling. My family and I are incredibly grateful!
