Dr. Kameron’s Story
Did you know that the DTA Foundation offers scholarships to dental students and dental hygiene students? Only the most passionate and dedicated students are awarded scholarships, and each must demonstrate that they are committed to expanding access to care for the underserved. Read on to hear the impact of a DTA Foundation scholarship for past scholarship winner, Dr. Kamron Call.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation’s support—it has made a real difference in my training and career path,”
Dr. Kamron Call, 2022 scholarship winner.
“The scholarship came at a crucial time in my career,” Kamron explained. Because he received a scholarship from the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation, he was ultimately able to graduate with less debt, which allowed him to attend an optional 3-year residency at UCLA Orthodontics. So even though dental students in Texas don’t need to further their training through a residency, Kamron made the decision to invest even more into his education, moving his family to California to study orthodontics.
Looking back, Kamron feels his dental school, UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry, prepared him well for his residency. He’s now raising 3 children with his wife, working full-time in the clinic, and obtaining his master’s degree while completing his orthodontics residency. As part of his residency, he also works with the Ronald Reagan Hospital System’s craniofacial team to ensure patients with complex needs get the care they deserve; namely those with cleft lip and cleft palate conditions.
Finishing his residency in Summer 2026, Kamron is looking forward to opening his own practice and working alongside other dentists in his community. Thank you to all our donors who helped him get to this point of celebrated success!
