Introducing Daniela Naumovski: A 2021 DTA Foundation Scholarship Recipient

University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry’s Daniela Naumovski was awarded a 2021 scholarship of $5,000 as one of last year’s DTA Foundation Scholarship Recipients.

In 2021, the DTA Foundation awarded 10 more $5,000 Scholarships to scholarship applicants. Daniela Naumovski, a dental student at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, was the very deserving recipient of one of those scholarships. I plan to incorporate community service into my full time dental career by pursuing a rare subspecialty in dentistry that is almost entirely based on community service, maxillofacial prosthodontics. As a maxillofacial prosthodontist I aspire to specifically treat the very delicate, and the too often severely neglected, population of patients which fall under the general umbrella of Special Care patients.

The most important aspect of oral health care to me is bridging the gap between quality oral health care and access to this care for vulnerable individuals in need. It is a privilege to continue to serve my Detroit communities in this way for so many years and a true honor to receive this scholarship.
