Introducing Diana Kim: The 2020 DTA Foundation / Mr. & Mrs. Paul Hinsch Scholarship Recipient
Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine’s Diana Kim was awarded a 2020 scholarship of $5,000 as last year’s DTA Foundation / Mr. & Mrs. Paul Hinsch Scholarship Recipient.
In 2020, the DTA Foundation awarded 10 $5,000 level scholarships to winning applicants. Diana Kim, a dental student at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine was one of those 10 very deserving scholarship recipients. Diana Kim’s path to dentistry was not linear and realized her passion to pursue a career in dentistry through different experiences, volunteer opportunities, and extracurricular activities. In her application, she noted “My purpose in life is to become a dentist, a leader in community service, and a mentor for future dental students.” Read below her thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Paul Hinsch for the scholarship.
Thank you for recognizing my efforts in community service, believing in me, and being part of my journey towards becoming a dentist. Receiving this scholarship alleviates my educational costs giving me the opportunity to focus more on the things that matter to me such as working hard, staying involved, and serving my community.
As I continue to work towards becoming a dental professional, I hope to use my resources, education, and passion to continue to bring access to underserved communities and make you proud!
